ARLINGTON, TX - For the second time in four days, the Dallas Wings defeated the Phoenix Mercury, this time a 100-90 at College Park Center.
Glory Johnson had 15 points and 10 rebounds, for the second consecutive game, and Skylar Diggins had 12 of her 20 points in the third quarter alone, including a critical 3-pointer she made, just 2 minutes into the third quarter, that set the tone the rest of the night. Odyssey Sims added 17 points and 9 assists, and Jordan Hooper had 11 points, on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting, including three dagging 3-pointers that literally destroyed the tempo of the Phoenix Mercury.
DeWanna Bonner had 26 points for Phoenix, followed by 19 points from Diana Taurasi, and 17 points from Brittney Greiner.
Dallas won a triple-overtime thriller in Phoenix, on Saturday, 117-110, on a night where Skylar Diggins had the best game of the season, scoring 19 of her 27 points in the second half. The Wings were down by as many as 17 points, prior to the fourth quarter, where Diggins took over. In the third overtime, Odyssey Sims scored 10 of her 17 points in the 5-minute quarter, alone.
The Wings are now on a three-game winning streak, after losing six straight games, prior to starting the season at 3-1. With Diggins back in the starting lineup, the Wings are 3-1 with her at the helm. Dallas now has a record of 6-7, and will face the San Antonio Stars (2-10) in Arlington, on Thursday at 7:30 pm.
